I'd like to bring this to the attention of everyone here. This business, known as "Wolf Haven: Spirits of the Past", utterly disgusts me. It is dedicated to breeding "wolves" (which are actually normal domestic dogs) and selling them ridiculously overpriced (about $1500-$2000 on average) to ignorant and stupid people. They spread blatant lies about wolves and provide false facts about them on their website. Most of their dogs are inbred and they breed every single year (yes, every single YEAR, no breaks at all). They treat these dogs as moneymaking tools. The dogs are mostly neglected, and because there are so many of them, little to none of them get the full amount of love, attention and stimulation that every dog needs. While the dogs are not underweight or malnourished, they are treated like livestock, each eating out of a common "feeding area" and are herded like sheep.

The main website is hosted on freewebs, which already says a lot about how unprofessional they really are. You can see on their website that they make spelling and grammar errors very frequently, which again shows how unprofessional they are. They make ridiculous, unjustified claims about wolves, such as how they are apparently a type of feline descended from the mountain lion, and how they have a "collapsible bone structure". They say that wolves are good with children and are hypoallergenic, when their animals are not really wolves at all.

Here are some of the "facts" from their website. Extra-ridiculous statements, both sadly true and obviously false, are highlighted in bold. My own comments are in red.

Wolves are not natural born killers, they only kill to eat. Since our wolves eat puppy food they have no need to hunt and so show no signs of aggression towards other animals. You can’t even make them attack dogs because they only protect when necessary and they have to decide not you. When a wolf shows signs of aggression towards a person all they really want is the person to stop what they are doing and go away. Some wolves that show signs of aggression may have been traumatized or they may have dirty blood lines or have been inbred, which will never be the case with our wolves. O RLY?
My family has had wolves most of their lives. They have had full bloods, tame and wild.
Speaking from this experience, no one has ever been hurt or killed by any of our wolves or the cubs we have ever sold.

When I refer to a wolf I am not talking about high bred or dog mixes. My wolves are 98%, which is as close as you can get to a full blood wolf in captivity. It is impossible to get a wolf to be 98%, (you technically could only get 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%) but if you say 100% then the authorities will think you got the wolf out of the wild, which is illegal. I got mine legally so I have to say 98%. With that excuse, you could pass off ANY regular dog as a "98% wolf"!

If bred and raised correctly wolves can and do make wonderful companions.

· People in wheelchairs, so they can help them get things.

· The deaf

But our biggest buyers are long haul truck drivers. They are popular with drivers because the wolf is not hyper (that is a disorder), do not have an odor as a common dog, and do not get fleas or ticks. Truckers find that wolves make excellent companions, as a matter of fact some of our wolves spend there whole life in the cab of a truck. Wolves have a natural calmness about them.
We know a teacher that takes her wolf to school. It helps to calm the kids down so they can concentrate better, what teacher or parent wouldn’t want that! They don’t need a lot of room like most people think. It doesn’t matter if you live in an apartment or own 100 acres, wolves are family orientated animals, wherever you are, they are. They will even follow you from room to room.

What the heck?

All of these wolves are:
* Hypo-Allergenic
* Can be very good with kids and people
* Very protective
* Needs to be with people and needs companionship with you and your family

WOLF HISTORY
* The wolf is the lion of the North. They are called that because they are descendants from the same lineage as lions. No...Wolves are more related to bears and seals than they are to cats. Cats are more related to mongooses and civets.
* Their eyes are that of a lion brown color and a thick mane runs around their neck and down their back. Females have shorter hair than males. All canids have that "mane", and it isn't even a mane.
* They also have a cat-like bone structure. They can collapse and dislocate their joints. So wolves can squeeze through the crack under a door?
* They can climb, jump up to 6ft.(or higher) from a standing position and can run up to 40 mph.
* Because they are 98% wolves they are not aggressive, but protective when needed. They have to be threatened or feel you are being threatened before they react.
* When you hear of a wolf being aggressive, it is more than likely mixed with a dog. When you mix a wolf with a dog you pass on the aggressive traits, brain imbalance and the health problems of a dog. So man's best friend is really aggressive, imbalanced and unhealthy? Wow thanks for telling me that. Now I'll disown my dog and get a real, 98% wolf!


GREAT COMPANIONS
* They are not overly hyper. Usually they lie around, rest and socialize. They do enjoy going out and playing with you, but are just as happy to lie around and watch TV with you. Because they "cat-nap", they don't completely sleep.
* Easily trainable, very protective, very quiet, very clean, and NO BODY ODORS!
* They make good pets for even truck drivers! We have sold a lot to truckers and have never had any complaints. In fact, some truckers call us just to tell us how great they are in the truck and how smart and what fast learners they are!


HEALTH
* A wolf does not get the usual dog ailments and will not have health problems from inbreeding.
* Their bones are dense for strength, much stronger than a dog.
* Their skin is thick like cowhide which provides protection.
* A wolf's coat is fur, not hair, and there is no smell or body odor to the coat; this protects them in the wild so that predators and prey cannot detect them. Fur and hair are the same things...
* They rarely get fleas because their skin is so thick.
* Since there is no dandruff, most people are not allergic to wolves. Even if you are allergic to dogs and cats. You should not be allergic to your wolf.
* A wolf can hear up to six miles away and see up to a mile and a half away or further if it is moving.
* There sense of smell is a lot better than dogs and they can do all types of scent tracking. Even weeks or months later.
* A cub starts out with the intelligence of a five-year-old child, they think more like people not dogs. They can remember everything quickly and also learn by themselves.


RAISING
* Our wolves are raised with love by us personally. Each one is treated like a part of the family. With that many wolves? Sure, bro. I totally believe you there.
* Because of special handling and the way the cubs are raised your wolf will grow to protect you and your family. Can you provide any backing to that?
* They should not run from people. They should be running from YOU!
* Since our wolves are not aggressive and not natural born killers, our animals are raised not to hurt anything including your pets or livestock. They are gentle.

I don't think anybody here needs further convincing - this business is a scandal, ran by liars and cheaters, and is not even a registered dog-breeding business. It needs to be shut down right away, and you can do that by signing the wonderful new petition right down there:

The goal is 1000 signatures, but that's not enough...it should be one million. That's the only way it can be noticed. So, please sign anyway to get it to its goal. This business is utterly disgusting. It's also a promoter of internet wolfabooism. So please, sign the petition. Everything on that site is lies, lies, lies.

Ok, you are more than likely going to call me names for making the following comments, but I don't really care.

If you don't think the people have good grammer, fine. If you think they don't have wolves, fine. If you feel their spelling is horrible, fine. But I am sick and tired of reading comments like yours and others on these "forums" from people that don't have a clue how these people live.

True they didn't graduate from high school, nor did they do very well in school. That does not make them all the horrible names that you call them. They put a lot of effort into doing their website and actually believe all of the things they state on it. They are not trying to trick anyone nor decieve them. They are 100% convinced of every fact they list, am I saying that is ok? No. But I am also saying you don't have the right to call them idiots when you do not know them personally. Or to state how they treat their animals.

They love their animals, fact. They treat them like family, fact. They give them as much attention (yes to each one) as a parent would a child, fact. Their lives revolve around these "wolves". Ask anyone that has actually visited them (not the liars that pop up here and there and refuse to give actual incidents but just make judgements on their spelling or how they look) or ask anyone that has bought from them. They have not had one person complain about the behavior of the animal they bought, no complaints about health of the animal and no complaints about the facility if they pick them up in person.

I have even seen personal emails from the same person that supposedly wrote on the testimonial page of the petition. He stated that his testimony was taken out of context and that it was filled with lies. I have seen the email and could actually forward copies to anyone that doesn't believe it. He was extremely happy with Wolfhaven.

You know nothing about these people and it ticks me off that you make such rude comments about how they treat their animals. Have you been there? No, I didn't think so. So keep your judgements to yourself, state facts.

And the fact that they use freewebs? They spend all of their money on their wolves. They barely can cover personal expenses because they spend approx $2500 a food alone. They brush their animals teeth daily and spend whatever it takes to keep them healthy. So no, they can't afford to spend money on a domain name, who cares anyway? Does that make a company reputable because they bought a .com? No, it's the PEOPLE! I wish you would visit them before you pass judgement.

Ok, I'll get off my soap box. And for your FYI, the just went through a three month inspection with the local sheriff and Fish and Game and passed with flying colors. They are doing nothing wrong, cut them a little slack. The petition isn't going to do any good, becuase they are doing nothing wrong.
