P.s you will get updates such as bug fixes etc until 4.0 comes out(and they might still update it if anything comes up) but the license it self doesn't have auto updates on it (meaning once 4X comes out you have pay a bit to get updates). Whoever buys it just needs to register an account here: http://www.woltlab.com/ and send me your username then I can transfer it (and the addon will be included with that)
No I've not seen anyone else selling it either on an English board at least. In my view it's been getting better recently (it used to be very basic) and all the plugins (which may I add are all one click install) fit very well into the forum and for most they also work with the standalone framework(meaning most plugins can be used as a standalone website)
I'm not sure if anyone else has seen it but they released a demo of the next version 4x (http://beta.woltlab.com/).
The only major downside of the software is that it's German based so sometimes lacks English support( although I've never had an issue which has been a cause of this).
I have never had an issue with plugins to be honest, I always find something that suites what I've been looking for. Just recently they have made paid for plugins something they officially sell on the plugin store which has brought more well made plugins (and usually there are free versions of the paid for stuff). The developers will even design custom plugins for you on request (although they will charge you)
