Nice title, huh? It's because I could smell a gas leak but my husband could not, nor could the guy who came out to fix it. It took a long time before the spray solution showed bubbles exactly where I said I could smell gas on a pipe fitting.
Do you have a better sense of smell than the opposite sex?
With me, I believe that those who focused more on certain senses growing up, generally do better at identifying something is wrong, by using those senses. Example, there are only two people in my family that have a great sense of taste and smell. Those two people, are myself and my oldest sister. Both of us cold identify something being out of place, by using one of those two senses, depending on what we are doing at the time. On top of what my sister and I can do with those two senses, I have a third sense I developed, that few have developed that I know of.
Why can I use those two pretty well, with identifying things? With my sense of smell, I have spent plenty of time growing up, learning to sit still long enough, to pay attention to what is happening around me; that said, I learned how to identify smells because of it, even if no one else can smell them.
I'm like this! I have always told my family & husband that I have a good sniffer. I can smell things they can't. Always could. Curious if this trait leans more to the female side.
