WordPress - Blocking Comments

I have looked everywhere and cannot find an option. When you create a new page on WordPress, is it possible to disable comments? If so, how can I do it?

When you hover over your page you have created in the admincp > pages. You should see a quick edit option. Click that and in this screenshot just decheck the allow comment option.
