Right im running WordPress but im having problems with the FTP details part of it. I have to manually install themes, mods etc.. Every time i try to install any of the two i get prompted to enter my FTP details which i do but it says their wrong? yes ive made sure there correct, in lowercase etc...

Is anyone else getting this? Also i made a topic months ago on WordPress and just kept being given the same link to add some code which didn't work.

Also does anyone know where i can find the CHMOD permission guide so i can check i have the right files/folders etc.. CHMODED right.

200FP$ if someone can help me solve both questions!

Well I have been searching google and I can't find out what the default permissions are, I would think reinstalling them would set it back to default.

When you are prompted to enter your FTP details, are you in your FTP client?

I think there is a code that you can put in to get rid of it
I did it but can't remeber it

I would just manually install themes or plugin via a FTP program such as FileZilla and activate it in the admin panel but if you want to download and use plugin and themes via the admin panel then try creating a new ftp account in cpanel (if you are using it) and using the new details if it does not work then contact your host

Also remember that your hostname is your domain, your username is the same as your control panel login and your password is the same as your control panel login too. All of these are found when wordpress ask you for your FTP details

This is happening for me too, I just use filezilla its so much more easier anyway.
