I was installing a new WP site and I got a prompt about this new editor for Wordpress.

Looking into it it seems like it will be the new default Wordpress editor and it will replace the current editor.

I think this is great as the current editor has very little to no features and it will be good to get a page builder that appears to be completely supported by Wordpress.

I like how when this will be incorporated in newer Wordpress sites the need of editor plugins or code plugins probably won't be needed as much.

It was probably prompted by Ghost and those site builders.
The last I heard of Gutenberg was when legions of users were complaining about how horrible it was.

I don’t use it, I feel like it’s too early at the moment to justify switching from the original.
