DESIGNER PORTFOLIO
I have been putting this off for a very long time. Last year I had a class where I built a WordPress website converting a theme and child theming it until I got what I wanted. This was probably the hardest experience of my life and has truly put me of CMS design.

Now I am looking to build my portfolio website and it makes perfect sense to have a CMS, for a blog, forum, and portfolio. I just have no idea where to start.

So should a designer have a WordPress Website or is there another CMS that would be better and allow for me to code?

Your help will be amazing...

You can use it if you know how then why not. I think WordPress is perfect for your needs

WordPress is great and super easy to use as a user and build upon as a developer. I'd highly recommend it. The basic principals of themes is actually quite easy. There's not a lot you need to do to have it working well.

The WordPress codex is your friend.

Yes, you should use Wordpress. It is fast and beautiful. There are so many theme, plugin for your needs.

I like WordPress, but if you're not careful the mods to it can disrupt your hosting causing other stuff to go off the air.
