Is wordpress the best blog software?

Best blog and best cms software there is in my opinion.

I wouldn't use anything else to make a website, as long as I have a choice (and I say that because I was forced to use wix in a "web design" class I took last semester - if you can even call what we did web design...).

Depends on the needs of the person using the software. For general use, it is much easier to use than some of its free competitors.

For many years, "Wordpress" has been a swear word to me. I design/code websites from the ground up, so never been a fan of quick structuring or template based environments.

However, as more and more design companies are using web builders, I may have to bite the bullet for some clients who want a quick blog/social interaction website built.

I fully agree. I only use wordpress for my blog because I haven't found (or built) an alternative solution as yet.
