For the last two weeks at work I've done some really long shifts and long weeks in general. How often do you work long shifts and what has your longest one to date been?

My longest shift was : 20 hours with no break.
How often I work long hours: Almost every week just now 🙁

I don't work long hours at all, I'm in an apprenticeship so I only work for 6 hours a day. 🙂

Back in my late teens and throughout the first few years of my twenties, I work with my father at our local arsenal, which made weapons for our servicemen and women. I've worked very long shifts multiple times while there, but perhaps the longest was from 5am till about midnight, and that was on one our busiest times of the year.

Since I've worked from home, I pretty much make my own hours.

I don't do many crazy 20 hour shifts but man when I do they suuuuck!

I'm a workaholic. If I didn't have my kid, I'd definitely do 20 hour shifts in a different job as often as possible.

Why would you willingly want to do 20 hour shifts? I only do them because I need the money and my pay is bad.

I don't have much in my life, or really anything to do. When I'm not working, I'm here online, on FP, or watching videos. I'd love to just bury myself in work and actually do something productive.

Fair point. I'm a bit like that myself sometimes.

Heh, most people would probably kill to have an easy job like I do, yet, I want a harder one. 😛

I could never do that. I can hardly manage 8 hour shifts, and only working 2-3 days a week. xD

I worked 2 jobs for a while and would do lots of 16 hour days. Extra money was nice but it made my life suck (was ALWAYS exhausted at ALL TIMES). Now i'm down to one job (8 hours a day / 40 hours a week).

I've never heard someone so enthusiastic to do work, even though I love what I do and you obviously love what you do. I'm always so excited to get up and go to work because I love what I do there. 🙂

I think it changes things if you really like your job because it will be fun to go to work and time will pass by fairly quickly! If your job sucks then time drags and you just end up looking miserable all the time.

I usually have 14-18 hour shifts before any "commerc" (no offense, I just call them like that) holidays for a week or two... Yeah, well we have the busiest days when no one on earth wants any overtime. It`s like everybody gets an idea and money for a website for these holidays. But oh well... I like what I do, so I can take it. =)
