Working VPN app for Android

I was accessing AliExpress using it, however I couldn't when I checked my IP address it's giving me my Wi-Fi address. However in the notification screen, it's already enabled. This is the same for couple of apps and I am tired of these apps.

Anyone got any recommendation for a working VPN app?

Try Tor's Orbot. It's pretty good, I liked it.

I hate making use of VPN for any reason whatsoever.

Well I don't use VPN but I have a friend who used VPN on his android and it works perfectly for him

I use Bitdefender VPN on my iPhone, I'm sure they would have one for everything else.
