If you don't know what World Community Grid is, it basically uses your CPU, internet and a small amount of disc space to sift through all sorts of information to help research causes like cancer treatment, alternative energy sources and much more.

You can set it up to only work when your computer is idle, etc.

Yeah that's a nice thing. I don't ever notice it except that it loads on sartup for me and I move it to a blank workspace on Ubuntu.

Be honest I doubt my computer will make it that long. I've had to put two new hard drives in this past month. Competition aside you've still got a solid lead. Hopefully others here will join in.

Mine is dying as well. I had to remove Windows. Luckily, Ubuntu is compatible with Boinc so I can still use World Community Grid.
