The new southern Sudan should build a niche off of making itself a tourist attraction. Thus, it would be important that Westernization take root there. Otherwise it will be another bad African country to visit.

Maybe not the countries themselves but some of the members of the radical groups that are based there.

In a new video message posted on a jihadist Web forum, Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born cleric based in Yemen whose most inflammatory sermons were withdrawn from YouTube last week, said that the killing of Americans by Muslims requires no special sanction.

According to The Associated Press, Mr. Awlaki told jihadists in his latest, Arabic-language video: “Don’t consult with anybody in killing the Americans, fighting the devil doesn’t require consultation or prayers seeking divine guidance. They are the party of the devils.”

Anwar alAwlaki has been misrespresented a lot recently, and it's very sad.
I wouldn't trust such sources when they are talking about him.

If you want somewhere safe (well, not so foriegn) as an American try UAE, Qatar, Bahrain. Although, the vast majority of the Middle East is VERY safe.

UK, neds, junkies, alcholics, bad society, shoplifters, vandalism, ASBO's, they even made up a show called the Scheme about neds and junkies around my local area and there bringing out a movie, and yet our government has nothing to say about it, although we ain't half as bad as other countries. I'd hate to visit Isreal and Egypt.
