Worst Forum Software

That isn't necessarily fair. Not everyone can pay for a VBulletin, or other paid providers/hosts.

He may mean freeforums.org as well. Unsure.

I don't like SMF, but I wouldn't say worst ever.

Re: Crappiest Forum Software

Not even FubarForum, where you enter in the admin url, and as a guest you can access the admin section?

That's absurd. I doubt it even supports renaming the admin directory. 😛

Couldn't a complete novice code a solution to that? Seriously. A forum being hacked through a clever exploit is one thing, but a forum being hacked by clicking on a link is another.

It even had this in the 1.6 version.

Besides Fubar, I'd say PunBB or even YaBB, even though YaBB evolved into SMF, I don't like it.

Are you flippin' kidding me? That is just stupid.

Re: Crappiest Forum Software

It seems like the naming trend for crappy software, with some exceptions is a random word which is entirely unrelated to the software with "BB" stuck at the end. 😛

I'm not a fan of PunBB / YaBB either. It's funny to see how old some of these softwares are yet they are so terrible.

Re: Crappiest Forum Software

I'd say that the software that can be hacked with a link is the one worse than what I can code.

And I only code HTML and small amounts of CSS in ZB themes.

I say that all free forum hosts are crap.
That is ignorant IMO...

Cause you use free forums?

I have to agree with Dark on that one though.

Maybe, but there are plenty of successful free forums, so its not a matter of a crappy software, its how crappy you use it.

Re: Crappiest Forum Software

EzBoard/Yuku. 'Nuff said.

Paying for custom smilies and customisable HTML code beyond ridiculous. Not to mention the domination of ads on all their forums and beside/in between posts.

Don't even complain about free-forum ads unless you've tried EzBoard/Yuku.

I agree. I don't know why anybody uses those anymore. The only reason I can think of is the unified login.

Yes, that was the one good thing about them.
