What movie would you label as the worst remake movie made?

For me, it would definitely be the 2003 remake of The Music Man.

A lot of people said The Shining remake was bad. However, Stephen King utterly hated the first one - cause he said the Jack Nicholson character was too predictable. But the first one was a classic!

Another one to throw in the list was Charlie and The Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp. While it wasn't horrible, it just didn't have the magic of the first - not at all.

The texas chain saw massacre was an remade back in the 70s and that had bad inputs are it wasn't as perfect as it should be back then. Then you had the titanic 2 and that was crap.

The 2015 remake of Poltergeist. The original can't be beat.

Jeepers Creepers 2/3, I liked the original better.

The Turtles: Oh my God, those things were hideous.
Dirty Dancing: Why the hell did they remake that movie in the first place. It was sooooooooo bad.
Total Recall: Another one that certainly didn't need to get remade. The original was still cool.

Oh, there are definitely more, but can't think of them right now.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory definitely didn't deserve the hate. It is truer to the book than the original and all of the characters are well cast and well acted. They just had to compete with an already perfect movie. I like both versions, to be honest.

Well, one good remake is Cape Fear - or it's as least as good as the original. But I haven't seen the 60s original!

Ghostbusters remake with female actors.
Jeepers Creepers sequels.
Prometheus.

Total Recall: Another one that certainly didn't need to get remade. The original was still cool.

No sense of humor in the movie. Definitely, Schwarzenegger's main gift is the humor. However, I did like Colin Farrell in Miami Vice - but that wasn't supposed to be funny anyway.

New remake the of the movie cats that we all or might see

I agree with a few mentioned above...total recall, ghostbusters, poltergeist remakes weren't good imo.

Also bad were, Godzilla, Independence day.

I haven't seen it yet, (and probably won't) but maybe Acrimony which smacks of 'Fatal Attraction'.
