I'm going out on a limb here. I was in my old job for a solid 8 years, I was loyal and I got them in the end (by quitting without notice.) but it was just an awful environment to have to work in.
I wasn't being paid regularly, for a long time toward the end. It was among all the employees, we'd ask where our pay was and there'd be a lie, or an excuse. Then it'd show up - I quit with three weeks owing in the end. Nor was I being paid at the right rate. I was being told how much overtime I'd be doing (and it was a lot). I was being told I couldn't take time off no matter how much notice I gave.

It was just the worst.

Sounds pretty horrible. I quit my retail job because I started hating it. The management started to change, and they were being really rude to everyone.

Can't really say any employer did anything bad to me. I was fired once but it wasn't such a surprise, I was still sad though.

I had an employer try to not give me my final paycheck. That changed though when my hubby walked up to the owner and asked him for it.

Another employer gave me a horrible review on my evaluation (for whatever reason) and didn't have the guts to tell me I had received such a horrible evaluation or why I had gotten such a low score. So I gave them my 2 week notice when I found another job.
