If you paid for a more expensive seat on a plane or a train and someone gave you a sob story and asked you to change seats, what would you do?

Personally, ignore it. As long as both have a seat, I can’t think of a reason to switch to a lower valued seat when I paid for a higher valued seat.

I would ignore them honestly, they should pay for a better seat instead of trying to beg for a better one.

No because they also could have purchased the same seat type. They chose not to.

Keeping my seat. I paid for it, therefore it's my seat for that trip. If they wanted it, they should've paid for it.

I read an article a couple of days ago about a couple who were forced to sit next to someone for four hours who had died during the flight 😱

I probably wouldn't be offering to swap with them tbh!

Aw, that's sad that the lady passed mid-flight. I read that she was too large to move anywhere else, but I really do feel that the airline should have placed the other passengers in that row into other seats. It wouldn't have bothered me personally to be next to someone who had just died because at least I know she'd be quiet 😉

I would sue the airline if this happened to me, I read a few articles about it and apparently the airline didn't offer the couple anything in return. Still I thought they were supposed to do an emergency landing in this case, 4 hours is way too long for someone to be sitting next to a corpse.

I'd jump off the plane and break the fall with my face.

I'd probably just move. I'm a pretty passive person.

I just say no, unless I get a upgrade above to what I pay then yeah ;P

Just do anything but don't just sob around me. That's my greatest weakness. I would leave the seat and rather stand for you because you are sobbing. I have a very soft heart.

Normally when someone asks, I just do it because it's just a seat anyway. Unless their seat is a mess or there's someone being obnoxious where they're sitting.
