It actually easier to get a loan for a house than it is for a car nowdays with all the grants like first time buyers loans,RDA loans. House will gain equity if you take care of it as a car will depreciate as soon as you drive off the lot with it.
You would be surprised at how much banks will throw money at you with a limited income as long as you have good credit. I've owned my own home for many years now!!

We are mortgage & debt free. If I could do it all over again, I'd still want to own my own house on the income.
It's mostly the same for me. However in hindsight I would have timed it a lot better and saved ourselves a world of financial pain which we've never really fully recovered from, even after 40 years.
We bought our first property in the very early 80s and within a few short weeks our mortgage rate went up from 4.5% to over 16.5%. In monitory terms that's £400 a month rising to £2000 (or slightly less in dollars). I had to work three jobs concurrently to retain the property for a number of years.
But don't let me put you off 😵
Sure. As long as it's not a fixer upper.

Of course who wouldn't want to own his own house from his sweat.... It's my dream and will be actualized some day
lucky that the home that I'm in now is own outright with the people that I live with now 😉 and hopefully, in the long term future, it will be handed down to me. BEtter the spending on Gas/Elec and rent each month.
