Would you rather know the exact time you will die or not?

This is quite an interesting conversation I had with a few friends today. Would you like to know the exact date, time, place and scenario of you dying, or would you rather it be a surprise (if you can call it that 😛 )?

What's your opinion on this? Would it make you live every second of your life or do you think you would panic if you knew because it was set to happen in five minutes time?

Well if you knew that you were going to die, maybe you would figure out a way to prevent it... Like if you weren't sick and were destined for a freak accident, why not lock yourself away in a padded room or something? Maybe if you live past your pre-destined time, then you'll throw death all out of whack and you get to live your own real life Final Destination movie. 😛

I would say yes because I could prepare for it and sort out anything I needed to before hand to better prepare my family for the loss.

Yes, I'd like to know. But I suppose the most important thing to realize is that we are privileged to be alive, life is short and we might as well make the most of every day we are lucky enough to receive.

In a way yes as it would mean I be able to get things sorted like saying good bye to my children and grandchildren
As I never got to say good bye to my dad

Certainly not, no.
As I'd sit panicking about it.
Whereas not knowing, I don't need to panic.
Everyone knows they're going to die, but do they know when? No. Do they panic about it? No. Imagine if they knew they'd die tomorrow at 11:32am I wouldn't be able to sleep! I'd be like <expletive word goes here to portray desperation> *censored by me.

Personally I'd rather not know the exact date and time that I will die. I want to just go naturally not knowing so that I'm not stressing over it and killing my self faster.

While it would be nice to be able to get your wills and stuff figured out with no issues if you know when you are going to die, I think I would rather go through my life without knowing. I feel like if I knew when I was going to die, I would ruin a lot of the time I have left. I am okay with death being a surprise.

Yep, I'm going to agree with cmt, you rather live life ignorant about when your going to die rather than wait for that time to arrive. 😉

I choose for no, haha. I think it's because I'm scared to know my ending even though I know I'll reach it someday. Not knowing my death makes me enjoy life more, weighing things based on my life expectation, regretting things, and so on. I feel I'll be depressed and limited if I know when I'll die. XD
