Would you rather lose the ability to read or lose the ability to speak?

Lose the ability to speak. Being an introvert, I need to see the written words in order for it to process in my head. I couldn't imagine not being able to read & hence not being able to write out what I was feeling.

None of those scenarios. Even if you couldn't speak, you could still text and communicate. Having some mysterious illness or incident that makes it where you become illiterate is a terrible thought.

read read, I mean I can't read right anyway 😛 so that my answer then again I'm reading this topic just as fine hehehehehehehe

Speak, I'm introverted and I don't really like talking to others in person. xD It's easier for me to express how I'm feeling with text anyways.

I've always been a huge consumer of the written word, some fiction but mostly factual. I'm also more of a listener than an instigator of conversation so I'll stick with the written word.

With the ability to write, you can pass your messages even when you can't speak. There was a time when I was under the influence and I couldn't speak, I wrote down everything I wanted.
