Would you rather read the book or watch its movie?

I actually prefer to watch the movie of a book. It’s not the same but some books can be quite long & I’m not into novels. Plus seeing the characters come to life helps set the stage.

I'll more than likely watch the film at some point, however, I'm one of those people that's going to read the book first.

Recently I have become very lazy in reading books except they are magazines that I can just glance through the contents and the pages. I will prefer to watch the movie on the television, it is very easy for me that way and less stressful.

Depends upon the mood. Reading books do gives me excitement, but to complete a book I will need around 3 to 4 days. Same story when watched as a movie, it takes hardly 3 hours.

Due to my job constraints, I have very tight schedule. I can spare very less time for reading books these days. So I prefer watching movies. 😊

I love reading books and this makes me to read any book first before thinking of watching a movie of it as reading makes me to remember the happenings more than watching the movie would.

Always the movie first. With very few exceptions, the book is better, and almost always cuts out material (by necessity). Reading the book first means I have a very specific picture of what's supposed to happen, and keep getting disappointed by the fact that it doesn't go as expected. I feel like I'm getting a watered-down version of something I've already experienced.

If I watch the movie first, on the other hand, I get to experience the narrative for the first time in visual form. I get to watch the cinematography and the acting and the framing without getting caught up on what was left out. Then, when I read the book, the universe expands instead of contracting. I get to re-experience the story, but with all the additional content that I didn't get the first time, and with the added benefit of the literary richness that a good author includes.

I'm sure that more than 80% of the people will prefer to watch the movie than to read the book. You cannot compare the entertainment level of video graphics, animations etc, to written texts and still images.

I naturally enjoy reading hence, will rather prefer to read a book of a movie than watch same movie... Besides, movie watching is not my thing, I don't just enjoy watching movies. But reading books? It a hobby for me.

I would rather watch the movie. It is my favorite form of escapism and much easier to do with others around than reading a book.

If its a book and a movie I try to read the book first then watch the movie and see how different it is between the two.

I would rather watch the movie. The movie I can get done in less then 3 hours and move along. Books I have to be deeply involved in it to want to sit down and read a book for a long period of time.

The book is better than the movie 99% of the time (in my opinion). You get a lot more explanation in a book than you do in the movie. The movie is only going to be a couple of hours long so you get a watered down version of whats going on because they can't put everything into the movie. Otherwise, the movie would be 14 hours long and who would sit through that?

I have time for everything sometimes there are some days I might prefer to watch movie rather than to read and also the other way around, This will really depend on how I feel and also if I have some interesting movie or book, I will rather choose the one that interests me the most at that time.
