Would you rather work the job you have now for a year at double your current rate of pay or have one year off with what you are making now?
I’d take the one year off. There's something to be said about "Money isn't everything" 🙂

I'd rather have a year off with the amount of money I currently make. My job stinks and it's going to stink regardless of how much money you give me. You could double my current pay and I still wouldn't be making the same amount of money as my husband.
