Would you work nighttime only if the payment was double for the same job?

Personally, I wouldn't agree to that. I would prefer to have a good sleeping schedule and work during the day, even if that means less money. I can't sacrifice my sleep like that. But I think there are a lot of people who will take this opportunity.

Not unless it was my only option frankly, I enjoy everything that comes with working during the normal work day.

I would if I could. But I have a lot going on during the day, so it would be more of a hindrance.

I am a morning person and I know I will not do justice to what I would be expected to do in a night shift.

It's an interesting question, and everyone's priorities and circumstances are different. Personally, I agree with you. While the offer of double payment for nighttime work may be tempting for some, I believe that maintaining a healthy sleep schedule is crucial for overall well-being. [link removed] reminds us of the importance of taking care of ourselves, including getting enough rest. Sacrificing sleep for extra income may have long-term consequences on physical and mental health. Ultimately, it's essential to prioritize self-care and make decisions that align with our values and well-being.

That's exactly what I'm worried the most about! Getting double the amount of money for the same number of hours sounds very tempting. But it doesn't justify sacrificing my physical health. We should always take good care of our physical health.

My current job is largely an afternoon/night position anyways because it's customer service oriented, so if it were overnight, it would be a little more difficult to do. That said, if I got the same amount of money (or even double), I'd absolutely jump on it for an overnight position lol. I'd get so much done in an 8 hour shift because I'd be uninterrupted by customers, and I'm more of a night person anyways.

That said, even though I'm not much of a morning person, I do pretty well on the occasional mornings where I have to go in at 6am for deep cleans because I get so much done in the 3 hours I have before the store opens and customers start coming in to the point where I have extra time later in the day to get other stuff that needs to be finished done.

No, I likely wouldn't. The evening times are when I can relax and watch something with family, play games, and sleep more easily.

I am more of a night person so yes, I can work nighttime if the pay is double.
I know there are many disadvantages of staying awake all night without sleep but I do take my afternoon to have a good and long siesta which will keep me at the high edge of not sleeping at all throughout the night. I have been practicing it this way for long now, I haven't experienced any consequences both physical or mental.

I work for myself but I get more productive as the day progresses and often work into the night. In retrospect I probably earn a lot more during the early hours.

I don't think I could do this. My employer already pays the night shift crew about a dollar more than the day crew, since not too many people can work night shift, which is great for those who can work the night shift. I wouldn't be able to do much during the weekends because I would need to keep my routine up otherwise I wouldn't be able to get adjusted for the work week.

Nope. I prefer my 7-5:30 with 3 days off and wouldn't change that for anything except maybe 7-3:30 M-F, or 8-4:30 M-F.

I wish the shift differential was double, I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat. I believe it's just like an extra $1/hr right now, so that's really not worth it.

I think I could adapt to it, yes.

But, would I want to? Probably not. I'm happy with the amount of money I'm earning at the moment.

I have worked a few night shifts before, and I realized that night shifts are not my thing. Why should I be working when others are sleeping?
