This is pretty cool. It turns a Wordpress site into a full forum with lots of modern day settings and features. Some stuff such as private messages you have to pay for but there are free private message plugins for Wordpress anyway.
It's a good plugin that you can have 😉 I have seen many different types of ideas and plugins like that. But regards free, can't go wrong with that. Well, partly free I say. End of the day I also see WordPress as an open book that you can do so much with it.
I purchased a website that was using wpForo a while back. I'd say it's the best forum plugin on the WordPress market by far, but I'd much rather go with a WordPress/XenForo integration. These alternatives don't have enough features for a full fledge forum, in my opinion.
I gave wpForo some serious consideration a while back before deciding on just buying another Invision license. I think it looks like it's well-developed and actively maintained. Good software.
I just put a new forum on my wordpress website. Initially i had tried wpforo , but i didnt like the way it looked on my site. I use Asgaros Forums now, and with some Googling i got it set up how i want it. Using Buddypress as well, and instead of having a forum profile and a buddypress profile both, there is a way to have just the bussypress profile and copy forum posts to your own personal Activty page on your profile. And can Private Message, without paying a bunch of extra money
