Do any of you here watch wrestling? Who is your favorite wrestler?

I personally could never get into it but my cousin likes it a lot. I’ve always thought it looked too fake for my enjoyment. 😛

I have watched it from time to time before. It's not fake, there are wrestlers who have died on the ring.

I used to love WWE. However, it's become every repetitive over the years.

I tend to hear and read up regards the end results and see who has won but other then that I don't watch

I've been watching WWE since 2006. Sure, most of it is fake but it's not as fake as the soap operas or the dramas you see on TV. A lot of those bumps are real, and as @Keranov has said, a few have died from accidents.

I used to do it myself during my high school years before I had to pack it in due to health concerns.

Who is your favorite wrestler?

I find it hard to dislike most of them. Only a select few which are legitimate d**ks.

But I do have long-standing favorites (in no particular order); Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy; Seth Rollins; Chris Jericho; Big Show; Daniel Bryan; CM Punk; Dean Ambrose; Undertaker; Kane; Mark Henry; Kaitlyn; Natalya; Becky Lynch; Ronda Rousey.

Used to love watching WWE, and playing the games of course. Over the years my interest dwindled but not because of anything particular, just what happens I suppose. My all time favourite is/was John Cena though. You can't see me peeps.

It might be a situation where it's preplanned, but things don't have to go as planned.

An upset is always fun.
You know like on Gladiator where the Carthaginians were supposed to lose!

Not really, I use to play the wrestling games back in the Nintendo Wii days, I watched it as a kid too and "The Rock" was my fav back then.

Pretty much. Though most of the time, things go well.
To both of you: Dude, no. Accidents do happen.

I watched the Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW. It was awesome, fun. Enjoyable.

But the reality is, these wrestlers take bumps day in, day out. My absolute favorite was Stone Cold Steve Austin. I loved his character, I loved his stories, his rivalries, whatnot. However, in my mind, I know we'll never see anyone like him again unless someone proves me wrong. Sometimes I wish he would go back in there, but the reality is, Austin broke his neck so much that it required a surgery, according to some doctors, and I found out later he didn't require it all that much. He regret it so much he said he wish he'd never listened. But that doesn't change the fact that his neck is screwed. He retired from wrestling in 2002. WrestleMania XIX was the last match he ever had. He acts from time to time, but no more wrestling. He still does appearances, still does storylines, and does sporadic wrestling moves, such as the "Stunner."

Another example is The Undertaker. Still wrestling today, but at WrestleMania 33, he left his ring attire in the middle of the ring. He underwent surgery shortly thereafter. His next match is Super Show Down, but after all is said and done, I doubt he'll be wrestling after next year's Wrestlemania.

Why? Shawn Michaels also returned to do a promo just to promote Super Show Down, but we all know they're teasing that "one last match" between Michaels and 'Taker. Shawn said time and time again, he's old.

Triple H, who is scheduled to meet 'Taker at Super Show Down is only doing a few sporadic matches, here and there, but he's not entirely "retired." However, he's more of a on-screen personality, as wrestling has taken a toll on him... In 2007, he suffered a legitimate torn right quadriceps, like he did in 2001. He hits the gym and wrestles, but it's just going to come back for more if he keeps going into his 50's (He's 49 now.)

I watch WWE but I do not order the pay-per-views like I did in the company's golden years. That was back when it had real competition from WCW, ECW and the like. These days, WWE as a product has fallen off dramatically. I only order the big pay per views like Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Summerslam.

It’s real to me, dammit!
The bumps that they take are real, it's the "script" that's fake. The feuds, the rivalries, the skits, the promos, the backstage are 50/50 real/fake (there's no "padding" between doors/floors/whatnot, but the promos back there are fake, too), each character (ahem; superstar) has something called a "gimmick," and so on and on. Most of those are fake, but you can also have "real life" dramas spill into storylines, like the current Samoa Joe storyline...

It's true: They've been friends for as long as their debuts in TNA. They even had a faction called "Main Event Mafia."

To keep wrestlers safe, they train every day to make sure that each "bump" or "hit" they take is minimal enough that they can continue wrestling the next minute. That is, while making each bump or hit seem real. But if you botch it, intentionally hurt someone, or something, like a freak accidents, you can, and will get injured not always immediately, but surely in time. It's more complicated than you think, but those wrestling moves they make are definitely real.

My favorite wrestler of all time is Andre the Giant but if I have to pick someone off the current roster then I'd go with the Undertaker.

There are a lot of tv shows out there that are a work of fiction (meaning it's not real) but people still watch them anyway. So what is the different between watching wrestling and watching one of your favorite tv shows? Now, I know there are people that get bumps and bruises from wrestling so it's not all fake either.

My husband likes wrestling and watches UFC. But we've recently cut the cord and I want to help him find another way to watch the events. Where do you wath UFC?
If he wants WWE, either find "WWE Network," or Peacock. If he wants UFC, find ESPN+, Hulu, or the official UFC website.

I watch WWE and AEW sometimes but usually just watch clips and highlights online. I have been a fan ever since I was a kid, but stopped following it as much for a brief bit. It was not till the 2010s I came back and watched WWE every week aside from PPVS or PLEs they are called now. I feel like pro wrestling is ok, but it isn't as good as the older days.

I used to be a major wrestling fanatic. Nowadays, I still keep up to date with it, but I can usually go months without seeing a single episode of any wrestling program. A lot of it, like others have said, has to do with repetitiveness and over-saturation. I have attended two episodes of AEW Dynamite over the last couple years and I've enjoyed them.

I watch NWA Powerrr and NWA USA, AEW and Impact Wrestling every now and then. But old school wrestling from the 60s to the 2000s are the best, IMO.

I have been a huge fan of wrestling since I was younger when my cousin got me into wrestling. I have always been a fan of the WWE which was also known as WWF years back. I always remember when I would stay at my aunties house, my cousin would always wake me and we would go downstairs and eat cereal and watch wrestling, it was a lot of fun.
My favorite wrestlers would have to be

John Cena
Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson)
Undertaker
Kane
Brock Lesnar
Triple H
Edge
Kurt Angle
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Finn Balor

I could go on and on 🙂 I have so many favorites from throughout the years 😀
