Do you watch WWE wrestling? In the olden days, my brothers would die for wrestling. It doesn't matter if they don't have lunch as long as they see their favorite wrestlers. But now that they are seniors, I'm wondering why one brother is still crazy about wrestling. He admits that the fighting were just stunts and the fight is scripted. Well, he enjoys the stunts so what's the problem? I am not against scripted fights because I understand that they do it for entertainment. But my impression was that wrestling was to entertain the kids only. And I was wrong.
I used to love it, especially during the attitude era.
The Undertaker was always my favourite, followed closely by Stone Cold and The Rock.
Nowadays it's really just....blah.
I used to watch WWE all the time from mid-2003 until about 2009. I even designed VHS/DVD covers for each PPV event up until 2008 too, as I always recorded the PPV events and thus needed a cover to grace the cases. I also watched older WWF PPV events too, which I've enjoyed.
I don't watch WWE nowadays as it started to feel too safe not just in terms of the PG rating, but also in the writing too. Repetitive feuds didn't help, such as Randy Orton vs. John Cena happening more times than I can be arsed to count.
I also miss the unique stages each PPV event would get, and WrestleMania is the sole event I will take interest in even now because that is the one event I know always gets a custom stage. This years was nothing short of superb and probably the best stage design WWE has ever produced, and in watching that event to see the stage I actually ended up enjoying the event itself too.
Also, WWE Network being only £10 a month is insane. For my brother who still adores WWE, it works out so well for him to get to watch any WWE programming he wants plus every new PPV for such a ridiculously low amount of money for the content you receive.
