Hello everyone! Ok so I was planning on buying an Xbox One X but I have a few questions. Hopefully someone may respond. First of all and probably the most important question would be... Do I have to have internet in order to play games? I heard from a friend that if I don't have internet then I wouldn't even bypass the login page. Is this true?

Everything is all online nowadays. So yes you wold need to have internet since games will be based online also now to mention that saved games files are loaded to the cloud. And with an account you have to login.

I know that once you are logged on you can stay logged on, but regards the games not everything is discs meaning that if you read what the box set say it will say it needs online connection to activate or to download more files or even to play online

Like Tick-O-Tock said it seems like even a lot of games these days are going online so it wouldn't hurt to have an internet connection but I'm sure you can still play games offline.

I know most games need internet such as COD, Sea of Thieves and a couple of other but for instance, Assassins Creed has a story mode. What I'm trying to ask is... Can I play story mode offline without the need of internet. I know for one that the initial setup requieres internet so you can set the configs.

Exactly! I have internet at my mother's house but I'll be moving out in a couple of weeks. I want to buy the Xbox One X probably next week. I can do the initial setup at my mother's house and also download the patches most game has, the day one patches. So, when I move out I won't have internet.

Already contacted them. The Xbox can be used without internet, atleast some games. It only requieres internet when plugged for the first time, for the initial setup. After that just tick on the "Go Offline" option. Best part is I can udate the Xbox One X by using a usb.

Get a PS4 and add me ConwayIsHere

Yep, you only need to have connection when you plug it in for the first time then you can go offline the time you want. Before you did need to have the Xbox connected to the internet the entire time but Microsoft withdrew this policy.
