Xbox One

I heard There Is 2 steam boxes, The valve one and the steam one.

The Alienware X51 console side Ubuntu Linux PC at http://www.alienware.com/ubuntu/ with Ubuntu is like Steambox, but made by Dell's Alienware gaming PC company. Ubuntu is compatible with Steam for Linux.

It cost $599 and comes with
Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual Core
Ubuntu operating system
6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz (2 DIMMS) *
1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 *
Slot Load Dual Layer DVD Burner
Dell Wireless 1506 (802.11gn) WLAN half mini-Card
1TB SATA 3Gb/s,7200RPM
http://www.alienware.com/ubuntu/feature ... ed_Systems

$599 is an okay price for a Linux PC since a lot of PC made by Dell, HP, and Apple cost more than $599, and use integrated video like the Intel HD 4000 or worse which isn't very good for gaming, and Dell would most likely offer free support if you need help using Ubuntu.

Well personally it looks horrible to me. I don't see how it can work with TV either since comcast stops any that kinda stuff. They may plan on selling there on cable which if true, I could see it selling very well.

Most cable company in Canada offer a pretty good DVR for free if you sign up for a 2 year or longer contract, or you can finance a DVR with smaller monthly payments or rental fees. The software on the DVR is usually good enough for most people to use to learn more about shows, schedule to record shows, and find the local listings for shows to watch.

I think a lot of people who want a settop boxalready have a Roku, Google TV and Apple TV which are good enough settop boxes for $99, and may not need an extra TV Settop box on the Xbox One, so I'm not sure if there are many people who want an Xbox One to use as a settop box.

Most cheap $199 Google Android tablets and Netbooks can also be easily hooked up to a TV via Micro-HDMI to watch Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube on a big screen, so buying an Xbox One to stream online content is more expensive.

My thoughts right now are not good ones. The Xbox One didnt even show the one thing it was meant to do, PLAY GAMES! I think this is a reacting that has been happening across the web. Personally I feel cheated. I have to pay extra for use games? No one got money for that! They also killed the nostalgia of it down the line. No more retro fan art in ten years. It feels like a nightmare. I guess we are all better of with PC gaming.

With the obvious failure to impress us that Microsoft had, and with the sudden interest in the PS4, E3 will be very interesting this year.

I feel the same way. The Xbox One does not look very good for me since I want to play older games for nostalgia sake without a need to re-buy a version which works on Xbox One. The Xbox One have a lot of TV and online video services which is not very useful for me since I don't watch much TV, and YouTube is best viewed on a web browser because YouTube is a social network with comments, likes, friends, and subscribers. Netflix is also not good in Canada since the movie selection is not as big as DVD rental places like Redbox, and Block Buster in Canada.

I'm not really impress with the PS4 since it has too many social networking features like the share button, and sharing for my taste.

I be sticking to PC, Mobile, and gaming on consoles I already own like 360, PS2, PS1, and Gameboy Advance. I want to get a Steambox if the price is affordable, and it can play regular Linux PC games as well.

Will you be able to play downloaded games from the Xbox 360 on the Xbox one?

Xbox Live downloadable games bought with the 360 are not transferable to the Xbox One unless the game's maker re-codes the game to work on the Xbox One to re-sell on the Xbox One Live service.

There is no backwards compatibility for the Xbox One for either 360 disc or downloadable games bought from Xbox 360's Live service.

XBLA also wont work with the 'one'.

Also the FIFA 14 game is £90.....

I wonder if they will have different servers for 360's and One's. Figured the would considering the are becoming money hungry just like Macintosh is.
