Little late to the discussion (mainly because I don't keep up with their crap any more).... but if you notice... mainly bug fixes and no end user (those things that actually keep our sites alive) improvements.
If it wasn't for 3rd party code that they have decided to fold in I doubt there would be much movement forward on that aspect.
Xenforo has fallen from the perch of the mighty it once rested upon and is sliding towards where the offal resides downside of that perch. Sadly now there are even open source (free) scripts that offer a better forum only offering.
