On one of the forums I help admin, even when logged in as the administrator account and trying to post an update, getting the following error:

[You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

Anyone any ideas what permissions need checking?

Able to reply to topics but not create them. Already checked permission to start new thread is yes.

Have you checked both the node/forum and usergroup permission?

Moved to a more appropriate forum. 🙂

Anyway, like MasterA said: Check the node and usergroup permissions. The node ones especially.

Node permissions are all set to inherit - user permissions I cant see any permission issues that prevent a user from posting a new thread - strange

Instead of inherit, try changing create thread to "allow" and see if that helps.

The user I am logged in as is setup to be default usergroup registered, then additional usergroup as administrator. Permissions for each usergroup and node permissions are as follows: http://imgur.com/ohqqpZu

Why would the user not be able to create a new topic still?

Will try setting to allow as you suggested

Does it work?

Is your user in any other additional usergroups like Moderator? If yes, I would check the permissions of those groups too.

I am not an expert with XenForo but have you tried to disable plugins? I once remember that someone had a similar problem because he wasn't in the Registered group and you NEED to be in that group.

EDIT: Why don't you set that section for Administrative as "Allow"?

How's it going Devster? Were you able to resolve your issue?

I found the installation I had paid for was a nulled copy so took forum offline - converted site to WordPress for now
