Wolt Lab is only $119 for a self hosted license while XenForo is around $160. What are some pros and cons of both and how do they compare?

that they are far cheaper than IPB - Xenforo offer more though at the end of the day in terms of add-ons and what you can achieve

While I do personally prefer Woltlab as I've been using it for over a month now, it is easier to find plugins on Xenforo than on Woltlab. However, Woltlab also comes with a CMS whenever you purchase a forum license free of charge. So if you're wanting to create a blog and a community all in one, Woltlab is the better solution. I even think the theme editor is much easier to use than Xenforo's, and it shows you in real time what you need to edit on a theme to get the result you want.

I have heard that WoltLab by default will not have IP address access built in due to German privacy laws. I would rather go with XenForo.

I’d pay a little bit more and go with XenForo. I’ve actually got a free license if WoltLab that I’ve never used. I like the look and feel of XenForo much better.

I used BurningBoard (Woltlab) some time ago. It was okay. I would definitely pay a bit more and go with Xenforo over Woltlab.

I prefer Woltlab as far as design is concerned, but I have used neither of these software, so I can't have an opinion on the admin side of things.
