Anyone using xenforo wanna talk to me about why it's worth it? I like the look but I'm just not certain on how I feel :|

I'm mixed on Xenforo, for one I like the software but there is so much to set up and the permissions, despite them being amazingly powerful, is a trip just to get set up for one group. 😛

Xenforo is nice, it is. I prefer IP.Board, despite their bugged beta software. I think someone with more Xenforo experience should reply however I don't like Xenforo simply because it's too big. IP.Board 4.0 is more modern, smoother, and just easier to use. Looks nice on the eyes as well as a default theme, very little customizations are really needed to make it yours.

Xenforo however is cheaper.

I have used Xenforo, Vbulletin, and IP Board. I like them All I have a preference of Xenforo mainly because I have used it the most out of the others. It is a good software there are alot of plugins, and it is worth the cost.

iP Board is good I know they had some issues recently with bugs.

And VBulletin is good but to me v4 was a better software than v5.

But Ultimately it is preference. There is also a price difference between them Get a Trial or demo of each test them out see how you like them and get the one you prefer the most.

I'm not a Xenforo salesman so I have nothing to gain from convincing you one way or another. 😛

...If you want to order hosting through my Hawk Host affiliate link, I'd get a commission though.
Hawk Host is great! ...do that 😀 :cheer:

But yeah, XF is a high quality product. Especially their alerts system. They have a demo available if you want to test out the ACP and whatnot.

I like this software because it runs smoothly. It's pretty easy to use and it looks great.

I've been a staff member on a few forums that have ran XenForo and I loved using the software.

It's well worth the money. I think you'll like the features and the general layout of forums which run on this software. I'm active on another community that runs and xF and I really enjoy using it. A large range of themes and add-ons to choose from. The mini profiles are pretty cool, and the PM system is different, you can invite many members into one conversation, and chat all in one PM. Mod/Admin tools are easy to get to grips with.

Definitely worth it in my opinion! 😀 I own two licenses now. Not a fan of IPB 4 yet, although I'm sure their working on improving it. For now, I think XenForo is actually the best software to own. And the advantage over MyBB, etc. is quite pronounced.

Hi Joshoa.

XenForo has several SEO features built in. Its popularity is growing, according to feedback from various community forums and weblogs.

I personally myself love Xenforo I find that it's better in terms of allowing members to interact with members and being alerted to it not to mention it's really easy to use and runs really smoothly. There is a demo you can use before you purchase which may be wise if you are considering it.

I like Xenforo but also vb is best because of they provide many basic features without using plugins, etc.

I think it's definitely worth it. I just tried the demo out myself, and everything runs so smooth! I haven't had any issues trying to locate everything in the ACP, and it's very easy to set up user permissions, forums etc. I think it's way better than vBulletin but I still like IPB a little more...

I think so. It is pretty full featured and can be easily customised. Support is pretty good too from what I hear.

I can 100% say Xenforo is definitely worth it. Performance and flexibility alone is just great. I have used IPB and vBulletin in the past and once Xenforo came out I have not looked back. With every update comes more and more great features too, some really great addon developers too and the community can be very helpful and informative.

Xenforo is worth it if you don't mind having to be nickled and dimed for add-ons to cover holes in the software. XF is a pretty software but in the past year it has been playing feature catch up to IPB and Vbulletin who have long since offered many of the 'new features' XF has.

it's a good software and I do use it. But IPB is a bit better. Especially with4.1
