Yahoo joins Browser War

Interesting, always good to have another browser! XD

Nice name, Axis.. I like that name.
 
I installed it in Chrome and it just added another Landing Page. I have since removed it.
 
I love the icon looks good but well dunno Ill try it out 😀 Ill be a hipster !
Installed it on firefox its kinda good
 
Never heard of it until now, maybe ill check it out and see if its any good.
 
I wonder if they ever release an Android version of the App instead of just iOS and desktop.

It's icons look pretty good.
 
It's definitely lame. It's not even a browser. It's an add-on to a browser. >.<

The Apple iOS App is a browser, but the desktop browser is a search add-on, but it is kind of lame since most browsers already has a search box.

But, it is an improvement from their Yahoo and Internet Explorer Firefox branded Browser with their custom Yahoo Toolbar since Toolbars are kind of old fashion compared to add-ons/plug-ins for browsers.

I agree with your first statement. Firefox already has it's own search bar which you can choose Google, Yahoo, Big, etc...so WHY make another one!?!?
 
Axis sounds like a cool ass name (excuse my language) but this aint even a real browser... WOW
 
It isn't a browser, that's what you all seem to be missing in your comparison. I think it's actually pretty cool for what it is.

I gotta say, the advertisement was cool. Other than that, I don't really see myself downloading this. I'll just stick to my normal Google Chrome.

+1 this, GC is insanely good and Opera 4 me :lol: Just because my site is like instant on Opera for some reason 😀
 
As stated earlier, yes Axis is an amazing name for a browser. I really personally like it. I like what there "add-on" does frankly as well. From there..... it just gets ugly. For one, it just shows they are too weak to make and support their own real "Browser", except the disturbing thing is that they are considering this a competing "Browser". I'll admit, it is an interesting new way to search (though I wouldn't use it on my own), it isn't a way to necessarily browse the entire web, and therefore isn't classified a browser. Additionally, it is an add-on! That's a key word right there. They are just either trying to promote competitor's browsers or just want to win over maybe a couple thousand more search engine users.

My view? I think this is pathetic. Yahoo, bother me when you get guts to make your own real browser.

They are redefining what it means to "redefine", especially since they called a "browser" the same thing as a "add-on".
