I'm wondering if anyone is using yahoo site builder for making website pages? I just found it yesterday, and feel it's quite nice and handy. I'm quite new to it though, just started yesterday. Do any of you use it too? Please share some information or feed back? Thank you. 🙂

I have used it before but tend to find it much better simply usuing wordpress. Alot easier to customise to be honest.

I too agree that wordpress is the ultimate platform for easy customization. I use it for all my websites.

Stay away from any free site builders/WYSIWYG tools to be honest. They tend to generate crappy code that's not particularly standards compliant and that's pretty useless in modern browsers. Stick to CMS systems like Wordpress instead.

Thank you both for the advices. I am also using wp at the moment. However, I found it is still mainly blog oriented, especially the layout. It usually has the wordpad at the center, covering some bg image behind, whereas a common commercial website usually just have the layout inserted into the bg image. So I am thinking to see how Joomla works.

I have used it in the past, but I have since moved on to others. Just Google it and I am sure you will find some more with better features.

Wordpress is probably the best platform to use. Like someone said in a previous comment, you're very limited when it comes to using WYSIWYG editors and many of the pages you create will be basically be duplicates of thousands of other pages, only with your content.

Wordpress gives you the freedom as a new web designer, or experienced, to knock up fast professional looking sites with thousands of free and premium paid templates. They are easily customizable with a bit of knowledge of CSS. Plus there are thousands of plugins (additional features for functions) and widgets!
