Some argue there simply isn't any David Gates and Eddie Van Halen around no more. However, what about new talent? Are they ignoring new sounds and/or being biased?

No. Newer singers are relying too much on software and computers to make them sound good. This is equivalent to taking a magic pill to sing like Elvis.
