You have 6 months to live before you die from whatever death awaits you, what would you do with your time before the death occurs?
I would ofcourse say my goodbyes to my family and close friends before the death, and would see about making life easier for my family after I die. I might even try sky diving once before the date comes up.
Not too long ago I went through a scary time of having cancer (twice actually) and I had no idea how long I would live so this topic really hits home. What really made me think was about how much I wanted to spend as much time as I could with my daughter. Would I be around for her wedding? Kids?
When you get the news that you have cancer you really go into a funk fast! Planning anything beyond getting rid of the cancer is something that you put on a back burner. I had to have an operation on my tongue asap before the cancer grew and one thing I'll never forget hearing from my surgeon is, "Put your business in order." That's serious stuff. Anyone can die on the operation table but to hear a doctor tell you to make arrangements...well, you are too shocked to really follow through on it.
Of course I didn't die from any of my 3 surgeries that year. And I didn't really go out of my way to make big changes in my life or attitude. What I did learn was that I appreciate life so much more now because it can be taken very quickly from you.
