What is your favorite news station? Would love to know. It could be anything from a local one, to a national station.

I love having updates on my mobile through Google news. They provide data according to my location.

I don't trust the liberal media. I often get my news from Fox News and sources around the web - Facebook is excellent for finding reputable blogs posting what isn't being reported.

You don't trust liberal media but you trust conservative media? For the sake of argument, I'll say it's just as bad (though I strongly believe it's worse) in terms of bias. You're not going to find a completely unbiased news source, and especially not in the form of Fox News or MSNBC.

I use local stations, national broadcast news for national news and CNN for breaking news events for wall-to-wall coverage. I also get a lot of news online in bits and pieces but I also look for more in depth articles on topics I care about. These days that latter part is hard to find though, it's all the same regurgitated news for the most part unless you really dig.

Unfortunately I've been watching the news for many years. A political sort of person has to start somewhere. I've watched all the stations and I've watched them all fall into chaos.

HLN got dropped, MSNBC's ratings are so low that they're barely even doing news reports anymore, and the CNN (which was half decent) took over the reigns of liberal propaganda factory. Not sure if anyone pays attention to CBS or ABC and by the ratings no one watches Al Jazeera.

Point is I've watched all these stations. Fox has been the most honest out of all of them and I like that. I find it even more ironic that we call them the "conservative media" - the one station that reprots neutrally and is honest..and somehow that makes them conservative. We're really labeling with that assertion. For sure the entertainment in prime time is GOP leaning...but that's what it's suppose to be. We're talking about the news which is an entirely different thing.

I'm not terribly worried about the liberal stereotype that Fox News is biased. I have yet, personally, to see such a thing so it's all water under the bridge for now.

I wouldn't trust CNN in this day and age and all local stations are just substations of their larger media networks anyway - so they're not much different in that regard either.

I've honestly got to agree with Geoffery above. I find FOX just as bad as CNN, and they're reputable for pulling some horrible stunts.

However, I'm not in much place to talk. I get my news from everywhere, but tend to cross-read from different sources. One of my favorite places to get the best news that I really care about is on Reddit, but then it's just links to other news stations.

News is a tricky topic, because everyone has their preference that may or may not be liked by others.

You're not going to find a purely unbiased news source, which is why cross-reading as TF mentioned is one of the better options for getting news. Then you can use your own judgment and find the common facts that most news organizations are reporting to get the "real news."

Never used Reddit but Fark is a good one like that.

I used to like sky news untill I saw how amazingly right wing they were. I now prefer BBC news. My favourite newspaper is the guardian as they are very sensible.

Same here! I watch the news on TV as well, but it gets kind of old because usually I've already seen the stories on reddit. 😛

Why watch the news when they post it all on their Facebook? XD

To be quite honest I rarely watch the news, I get it all on social media. Plus reading the commentary is the best part about it.

I think the line between news, news commentary, and opinions needs to be more hard drawn. Stations like FOX and CNN are largely opinion based. When someone talks about the news on CNN, they normally state a basic opinion with it. The problem with that, is that it cannot be unbias. Due to the show host(s) giving their opinion along wih the news, which means that an amount of bias (which is based on the host(s) believes) will greatly increase over a host that just reads the news.

Normally, if I want straight news I watch WSB (a Atlanta news station). But if I want opinion based news, I watch FOX.

My favorite is Fox. I don't like CNN especially since the things my dad has told me about them and I saw online a few days ago that they give false info on things. I want to get true information when I am watching the news.

Sadly, my local one closed last year. The other ones don't talk much about my area.
