I'm not a huge fan of advertising either, but if you want to get your name out there, it's gotta be done. Members just aren't going to come in on their own!

But why don't you like posting so much, though?
 
If I hated posting, then I wouldn't be using FP, and have built up 2183 posts now would I?

Maybe it's a sense of respect for the forum members to have a chance to get to know you first? 😀
 
My first post was a vote cast in the first Forum of the Month competition. As trivia, most forums entered into that competition were hosted by FreeForums. Also, the only forum from that competition that is still up (out of 14 entered) is a forgettable general discussion forum that never took off. The topic started 15 May, 2007, and my vote was cast on 23 May.

Why leave a forum up that old that nobody's bothering to even check out anymore?? Especially if it never took off? I would've taken it down ages ago if I saw a forum like that that was three years old but wasn't getting any attention from anyone, be it staff or members.
 
my first topic is at intro thread . well it is great to remember back .
 
It was probably a intro topic. Dont ask me to find it, I dont feel like digging for it!! lol
 
My very post did it the way that I think it should always be done and that is with an introduction, I can't be bothered to dig i up though.
