Your hourly design rate?

What is your hourly design rate that you like to charge clients? What do you think it SHOULD be at?

I don't charge family and friends and those have been my last clients. Prior to that I charged $25 an hour to do logos and brochure work. I would figure out how many hours it would take me and then multiply it by $25 adding in hours for 3 alterations as well. Always get your client to sign off on that as approval in a contract, btw!

A lot of my old design work is actually on floppy disks! My hard drive didn't have enough space on my old computer to hold all the graphics I did so I used floppies but now I have a laptop and no way to read my old floppy disks. I'm sure my husband has a floppy disk reader somewhere at work if I never needed to pull something off one of the disks.
