Does it ever bother you when your staff members/moderators are active on a direct competitor's forum, and not as much as your own?

And I'm not just talking about any random forum competitor. I'm talking about two forum rivals that have been competing with eachother over an elongated amount of time.

Yes, it would bother me. For the most part, anybody who says it wouldn't bother him/her is lying.

I wouldn't take any action against the moderator in question, but it would bother me.

I wouldn't like it, but on the other hand I wouldn't and couldn't do anything about it. I don't rule over any volunteer's life, so I can't really tell them what to do outside my forum (exception: leaking confidential information, and similar things).

It would be a bit of a bother, but it's not something you can do anything about. I'm not going to tell somebody off for posting on a forum that's not my own.

Nobody wants a control freak admin. They can do whatever they want. 😛

I've had one or two members set up similar sites and my mods and members go there, I do too to show support, after all they help me with mine, if you show willing they will stay with you too hopefully. At first it irked me but not now, if you have a good forum it will hold it's own.

"keep your friends close and your enemies closer" as they say :great:

Sometimes it can actually be a good thing. Makes you second guess what you're doing or what could be wrong, and think about what the competition has that maybe you can implement in your own way.

I do agree with this as well. There's always the chance of a new friend/member if you hang around rival forums. xD

Doesn't really matter to me. I don't have any competition other than the official forums and ScoreHero.com, and I'm actually on both. It just depends on the niche, really.

I'm not a control freak so I don't aspire to control what someone does with their lives outside my forum. It would be foolish for me to worry about something I never will be able to do anything about, so no I don't.

If someone else is employing them on their forum, then it means that he thinks they are good staff to - this basically proves it was a good idea for me to hire them. =P

It would bother me. But as long as they stayed active on ours and did their job well I'd keep them on as a mod. you can't win them over by getting bothered about them being on another forum. you just have to make your forum so swell they start to like it more on yours 🙂

Sometimes, if they are more active on a competitors forum then I really do not find that as a good quality worker. However, on promotion forums, seeing as almost everyone on FP has owned their own promotion forum sometime or another, it is hard to find someone that will only be active on your forum.

I'm an exception. I never owned one!

I wasn't sure how to express my views on this, but that's how I feel as well.

What?!?! Where did that assumption come from?
