I like that the Mac Mini comes with iLife which include nice video editing software like iMovie, and sound editing software which is Garage band seems more feature rich then most of the free alternatives media editing software for Windows.
iPhoto also looks pretty good for basic photo edits and slide shows.
The small size of the Macmini is also good for people with little desk space, but need a basic computer for school, work, basic tasks, low to medium settings for Gaming.
The 599 price is kind of high, but it does include good software for a lot of basic tasks like video editing for YouTube, music editing with Garage band, and basic photo editing with iPhoto.
