I'd like to get your opinion on what you like to see when visiting a webpage set up with WordPress...

Do you prefer to have things on one page and scroll down (or have anchor links to click to get down the page)?

Or do you prefer to have things on separate pages to click to, meaning you don't see everything all at once?

I'm asking in regards to a church webpage.

I personally still prefer having separate pages, but that may just be an outdated traditionalist viewpoint.

For me, I think that the page loads faster if I don't have to scroll down, down, down.

The never-ending scroll works in some aspects like an image page or a listing of sorts. I still prefer the separate pages for keeping information organized.

I think dedicated pages that provide more information would be a good idea but perhaps the main page can provide brief insights and if folks want to learn more they can click the link that say's something like "Learn More".

That way you can keep the home page somewhat small but brief bits of info are provided right there.

I'm in full agreement with that. You never know who just wants the easy bits in their face before they close the window.

For a church webpage, I prefer having key information on a single, scrollable page with anchor links for easy navigation. This allows for quick access to important sections like service times, events, and contact info without overwhelming visitors. However, having separate pages can work well for detailed content like sermons or articles that people might seek out specifically.

If I'm on a PC or Mac I prefer pages but if I'm on a smart phone, endless scrolling. Just call me awkward 😳

That absolutely makes sense and I think a lot of people prefer it as well, the key information right there in their face.

Depends on how much info, If you have many groups and active things going on like Monday night mens groups and Tuesdays night ladies group, Wednesday Service, Thursday Choir, Fridays 5th quarter teen groups after the local football game. To much info on 1 page can be a wall of text. Multiple pages can be used to target certain highlighted activies then you could have a section on the front for Seasonal things like Trunk-n-treats, Christmas and more.
