Has anyone ever tried using a youtube channel to attract members? I'm trying it out with my site/forum. We haven't gotten any members from it yet as far as I can tell, but we've got a few subscribers.
Do you think this is a good idea? Making some videos (related to the content of your forum), putting them on YouTube, attracting people, and then advertising your forum?
I think it can be a very good idea, if people are subscribing and watching your videos (hopefully you would have left a link to your forum in the video or something) then they will notice your forum.
Well, my best use is, i post Brawl matches from my fofrum up to youtube, and i have my forum's link the first thing in every description of every match i upload. and i use every word imaginable in the search tags for those looking up anything for brawl.
It's actually worked, on rare occassions.
You just gotta have something that'll be searched alot on youtube, and would actually warrant somneone to be interested in checking out your forum.
my idea is good, cause it displays our matches, and Brawl is a game you have to meet people online, in order to play others online.
But, just making an Ad on youtube, for something not alot are going to search for, may not be worth the trouble.
Well, didn't realize it was you, Merlin. See, you actually have a specific theme, that does get searched on youtube. You'll just have to post unique videos from AC: City Folk ... and be sure to have a copy/paste outline of your forum, with the link in EVERY AC video you post up.
just don't expect it to flood members in. I have uploaded over 100 Brawl matches, and may have gotten around 10 members from it. But ... thiose members aren't just come n go members. they have stayed on since they found the forum, cause they couldn't find a descent brawl forum for finding opponents.
you wanna know what i found out is the most found way to my forum besides advertising.
Google. because i use the slogan "Find brawl opponents, now" on my forum, alot of people type "find brawl opponents" and my forum is the FIRST message board to pop up on google.
just find something catchy from AC, and have it posted somewhere on your main page.
