Youtube video

I decided to promote my forum via a short Youtube video.

My boyfriend and I (we run our forum) discussed ways of promoting and this was a lovely way we thought of getting the word out there.

We also started a Bebo and Facebook page and embedded the video in there.

It's not a brilliant way of advertising...granted but it's a little bit different and allows people to embed it into their own blog sites.

i doubt it'll get you members, but it will get you positive youtube comments.

i think its a wonderful idea and would love to try this myself but i wouldnt know where to start in making one.

i think the secret with using a utube video for advertising or gaining members is to comment on other similar videos and leave a link to your site.

i dont mean go out there and spam every video going but it doesnt hurt to leave a constructive comment that may get a viewers attention and encourage them to check out your link xxx

I've done this a couple times. It doesnt always work. But what you should do, is post a video response to very high viewed video's, reply your ad video to those high viewed video's, I bet that video will get alot of views.

it worked once for me as it got the attention of a group on youtube that then got some of it's members to join and use my forum to discuss things...so you may be surprised by who you find on youtube that may be interested...

Just look at their Alexa ranking. They are the 3rd most visited site in the world:

i did a video of my site using screen shots and notes, it was quite simple really.
ok its not brilliant but im still learning

i guess it depends what you do with it, if you comment on similar videos and leave ur link it acts as many back links and keeps the search engines busy.
if like mine, because i havent got round to that yet, its only one bk link but it is being viewed reguardless and thats the main thing .
its a bit of fun that can be added almost anywhere, if you get one member from it, its done its job.xxx
