Which is why you need to make something happen! Don't expect members to come with nothing to chat about, post at least a few topics everyday even if no one seems to be visiting, it will still help your forum since there will be something for users to discuss. Remember to ask your friends and family to sign up and help you, it'll really help in the beginning 🙂

How does your design look? If it isn't that great consider getting it done by someone in FP's great graphics exchange. You'll be surprised how many people won't sign up just because of a bad logo.

Hope your site works out mate 🙂

You add it to the tower yet?

You can try setting up a referral system. Get someone to get someone to join and reward both people 🙂

I have a advertisement forum Adverts Hub. But, other than mine there are millions of promotion forums/sites/directorys etc.

Hmmm...posting doesnt seem to help much, and my freinds dont use the internet fpr anything for homework XD. but thnks anyway.

I am in the same situation, what I am doing is creating some members myself and adding some posts just to get it going. Once peole start arriving I will delete the accounts.
The next thing that you could do is add your forum address to your posts as shown below 😉

http://www.themediabusiness.com

From what I'm seeing, you're BARELY promoting your forum. How do you expect traffic if nobody even knows it exists? The first step is promotion. Place the URL in your sig which you have, and remain active on promotion sites like this one so members will see it and perhaps consider joining. As for nothing going on, that's up to you.

You could always try some packages and some exchanges to try and help stimulate some activity, but really, nobody is going to contribute to the forum if you don't contribute to it.

A successful forum is a forum that's Admin(s) contribute to it, that's the best advice i can give you.

Advertise, be awesome, get nice staff, pay for ads too... All I can suggest 😛.

Having a successful forum takes a lot of man hours. Here some simple stuff you can do:

-Create 2 topics a day
-Reply to every topic that a user has made
-Welcome every single newcomer(VERY CRUCIAL!)
-Have patience. It took me about 6 months to get some legit members(non FP members) to swing by and post.

THANK YOU ALL!AND TO FP'S GUDIE

Plus all the other bad things you have to cope with when you don't have an origonal idea.

Forgive my spelling,i'm on a DSi.

cqinzx's tips for you of getting things going is the best way to get started. Even though you have no members yet, start posting topics. Post several of them, make ones as interesting as you can think of, and write them well.

On the side, just start spreading some general word of mouth. Come up with a slogan, site description, and post the link to it all around. This will bring in guests.

Once you get guests coming in and they see the topics you will have already made, at least one of them is going to be inclined enough to reply to one of them to join your site and do so.

redagents' idea sounded clever. It might not be a bad idea to create other accounts yourself and pose as other personalities.

Another thing I found that helps tremendously is to have a partner administrator who is just as interested in the site as you are. There is an old saying; "If two or more people come together for one cause, it will happen."

I would think post exchanges and paid posting would help too. I've never tried the first and I'm just now trying out paid posting, but I would think those would help a good deal too.

:cheer:

partner administrator...Hmm...
I know the guy.Hes an adim on too many sites though...
I should make other acounts, good Idea!

you have to post alot and creat many threads, and maybe pay for posting packages, and invite your friends to post
