Why are people a fan of Zeta Boards? I think ZetaBoards are a turn-off and they just look atrocious. Why do people use it? When I see one it automatically makes me want to not register.

Exactly. It's so big and distracting that it makes it irritating. It's very disorganized and just looks horrible.

Their registration system is a pain in the ass also.

I don't like how their forum home display is layed out, with the amount of topics/replies in those little tiny boxes.

Yep and to be honest i think IF forums are better (even though the security on the IF forums is crap). I find the IF forums look better and are easier to use.

I just don't understand what drives people to use it?

- It has a number of features which IF and other free hosts don't provide.
- The Admin CP is very user-friendly.
- You can always just get a good skin to make it look attractive 8P

Yeah but see here's the problem. No one bothers to get a nice looking skin. They just use the disgusting fat template.

I hate zetaboards, there is really no customization. Every board made from Zetaboards looks exactly the same.

I don't hate Zetaboards but I wouldn't use it. I have seen some nice forums that are powered by Zetaboards but it is the feel of it I don't really like.

Theres only been two ZetaBoard sites that I liked, one of them being fantanoice's Dashing. I much prefer IF, and even though the security is crap (Come on, theres a Brute Force program made just to hack them -roll- ) I think theyre better. Then again, they are based off IPB, where ZB is based more off vB if you ask me.

All in all, ill never use them for one of my sites.

I like to use Zetaboards because its really user friendly, and i don't think its true that every skin looks the same, some look very nice and some do look like crap, and i hate the default. They are a little chubby but i think it is much easier to do everything and that's what im all about, being lazy and doing everything the easy way 😛.

Yeah, it is. I just counldnt think of the name at that second. I think phpBB3 on a real host is the best. Doesnt even need to be paid hosting, just on 000webhost for example. It beats ZB to death with a brick.

Honestly, Zetaboards is not the best out there..but there is way worse. Like invision free, jcink, ect...

But, If I had to pick out of those it would be ZB.

Yeah I agree but I quite like the skins they have and the majority are fixed width. They would probably be my 3rd choice software (well I would get vBulletin but I don't have the money) after SMF and phpBB.

I feel their Host is too slow. none of the zetaboard sites load fast for me... i dont think its a good host
