@Dismal_Bliss, what prompted you to share your experience with an animal-based diet through this forum?

Thanks for being a part of Forum Promotion!

@Dismal_Bliss your site definitely has me thinking about the way I eat! And working on that video for you made me hungry for grilled steak LOL

Do you ever get any vegan trolls on your site complaining about meat eaters?

Oh wow! What a pleasant surprise! Thank you for the honor to be given the spotlight this month.

What prompted me to share my experience with an animal-based diet through this forum?

In a word - results! I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. The only thing that ever worked for me was low carb/keto diets that I first learned about when my neighbor in the late 90's gave me a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. I read it and applied it and had great success. But then over the years, life throws you curve balls. I would start eating the standard American junk diet again, got married, had kids, gained weight, lost some, gained even more, etc.

In recent times, I started to have health complications. Gout, high blood pressure, skin tags, arthritis, ulcerative colitis, pre-diabetes, kidney disease, etc. I knew that I had to make a permanent change now, if it wasn't already too late. I returned to Keto and started studying, again, human nutrition. I eliminated grains, sugars, and vegetable seed oils (and so should everyone). Then in time, I started learning about plant toxins, self-defense chemicals that they use to try and defend themselves from being eaten. Some humans tolerate these toxins, and some don't. I decided to try going pure carnivore for 90 days to see what would happen.

I lost 50 pounds and have kept it off. I reversed my hypertension. My ulcerative colitis is a thing of the past. My skin tags disappeared. I no longer have joint pain and I have the energy to do things as if I were in my twenties again. Needless to say, I am both sold on this diet (not that there's anything to actually buy, lol) and elated, and want to share my experience with others and help them to achieve similar results.

I've been a forum junkie forever, and have had one going since 2006. I looked for a "carnivore" forum on the web and there were only 2 others, one that never lifted off after being set up and has been abandoned, and one that had a little activity at first but is now dead as a doornail. Both suffer from owner/admin's not being present in their community nor promoting it.

So I started Carnivore Talk because this is a niche that NEEDS to be discovered, because this way of living can really help turn lives around for the better.

Great forum @Dismal_Bliss! What are the benefits of a carnivore diet?

The benefits are optimal health. A large part of the reason here is the removal of processed foods (something that even a vegan would benefit from). Plus, animal foods like beef are nutrient dense and bioavailable, unlike plants which contain binders that inhibit your absorbtion of nutrients. The proteins are complete too, whereas you have to eat a variety of plant proteins to get the right combination of amino acids to form a complete protein.

It should be noted that I am not averse to eating vegetables that are actually fruits. But I do believe a natural human diet should be meat-based and all natural. If you can pluck it from a tree or hunt it down, it's probably fair game. But if it comes in a wrapper or box and was concocted in a factory or lab, you probably don't want it in your mouth.

Have you found a receptive audience for your community?

Yes. A lot of people want to lose weight, and are willing to try anything. At the same time, there are those who think this is extreme, or they are sugar addicted, and can't bring themselves to completely convert, lol.

I advertise and am active in the keto carnivore community, which attracts members.

No I haven't, at least not yet.

It's worth noting that I am not political about this way of eating, nor have any derogatory feelings towards vegans. In fact, you have to give credit to a vegan because they are at least thinking about their diet and are wanting to do the right thing. Their heart is in the right place. They even see good results from cutting out junk from the standard american diet. But many vegans don't last because of the health issues that eventually come from deficiencies. Many current keto-carnivores were former vegans, who realized they were getting sick and needed healing.
