I doubt they will just yet as I spotted at least one tie. It's likely they will want to deal with that first along with any other ties as well as verifying all vote totals before moving everyone to round two so expect a possible delay for round two if the tie(s) remains after vote verification is complete.

secound round is just around the moon

We will have the next round up as soon as possible. I have one battle that ended in a tie so I'm getting 3 staff members together (these 3 staff don't have any affiliation with either site) to give me their vote on it so we can break the tie. Thank you to everyone that voted in the first round and be sure to vote in the "Sweet 16" round coming up!

SWC's battle thread made me laugh. To get this worked up over a forum contest is beyond absurd. If that is all it takes for someone to lose it then they are going to have a hard go at life when life really decides to let you have it. I personally would rather lose then win via a technicality as no one should ever take such a win seriously. I would rather win on my merits instead of through a poring over of the rule book.

As for the professionalism line, I don't think Cessepedes ever once portrayed his board as being anything but a hangout for people who like to let loose about sports, wrestling, life and whatever else you want to talk about. It would be one thing if he portrayed his board as a place for mature discussions then gave the opposite but he has not done that. He has chosen a different market then others might have chosen and if such a demand is found for it then it will live and if there isn't one then it dies and thus far it seems there is people out there who want it or it would have been a ghost town by now. Not everyone wants to be super serious and mature all the time which is saying something coming from me.

As for the whole shit talking bit, is it something people should be doing? Probably not but there is no rule stating as such though I would hope that we had a higher standard for what to do or not to do then a rule book. Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should be doing it. However, it doesn't justify losing control of your emotions and acting out over it. Not everyone is going to like you nor should they have to. If they have a point then change yourself and if not then just ignore it. Doing anything else is just displaying a lack of maturity on your part and if you want to talk about other people's lack of maturity then it would be best if you were actually mature yourself first.

One suggestion I would make for future contests of this type is that boards should have a minimum member and post count to be submitted so you have actual communities competing instead of people just voting for a board because they like the guy who submitted it or didn't like the other guy who submitted the competing board. I find it rather curious when a board can get more votes for it then it has actual members. If you want to degrade this contest down to just some empty meaningless popularity contest then this is how you go about doing it. You as the voter(s) might not care but if FP wants a win in their contest to actually mean something then I suggest they do care about this.

Those guys like to watch professional wrestling so its natural for them to be so amped up and start talking trash like their favourite characters.

Which is fine But the way is shown ofc as any sports people swear and all when I used play football i swear etc but when you are talking about votes and other members and the forum it shows something @Bluezone777 I did report the content though and its closed for now

It still is funny how competitive we humans can be though.

I agree with this. The only problem however is websites that are not forums wouldn't be able to get that minimum imposed onto them, which might be unfair if two websites are made at the same time but one can't enter because it has statistics to meet while the other doesn't.

I like to make another comment about the other now locked race and that is it does not matter to the voter how much money was or wasn't spent on the site in the battle. What matters is the final result of the spending of those resources. Being the guy who spent the most doesn't mean that guy is entitled to the better or best result. We as the voter aren't looking at your finances to determine our vote as we simply look at who got the better community and if the better community required less money than the other then it means that either one did more with less or one did less with more. Instead of getting bitter that someone who spent less got more out of it , how about reconsidering how you spend your resources so you get more bang out of the spending of your resources whether that be your time, money, etc. so you can get a better result and even spend less to get that better result. Doing what you are doing now(referring to destroyrepeat battle) is just demonstrating your immaturity and really showcases just one of the possible reasons your resource spending isn't netting you the results you wanted. Another possible reason is my Firefox browser is stating your site is insecure and isn't configured properly and refuses to connect to it. I am sure that isn't winning you any votes from Firefox users such as myself who coudn't even visit your site and might not have even considered your site because they couldn't even view it if that issue was going on during the battle.

It may not be related Bluezone, but when I tried visiting DestroyRepeat today I was told by Chrome that its security certificate had expired. I hadn't encountered that when I visited the site earlier in the week when voting had just opened. So it may not be Firefox causing the problem but the security certificate.

I have a Joke to make I hope its funny the way my battle was awesome it felt forum like IcyPromotion was (Goku) and SWC (Vegeta) from Dragon Ball Z. If you guys get the joke make sure leave a Like

ICY promotion wasn't exactly a saint either, I would say more of a Piccolo at best. 😉

Sorry about that. I intended for the certificate to expire because it only covers "www.destroyrepeat.com" and not subdomains. Most of my websites are under "addons" on the actual cpanel instance. Comodo treats www. and subdomains as completely new sites, which I disagree with. So, this year, I'm trying to do better in domain "coverage." I got a new one, and it's being made or issued at the moment. I'm also facing some financial hardships since I'm in the middle of a move. *sigh*

I'm not bitter about the battle. It was supposed to be fun. I was actually trying to learn exactly why a free forum won over the one with the money behind it. To me, free forums don't take that much skill to build and create. But the guy who spent a lot of money acquiring such a large site, and then redesign deserve more attention and consideration, don't you think? Of course you don't, because you don't realize what goes into it. It's a beautiful site, and yet, everyone passes it on. While, another one of my sites gets the popular vote. Guess what's difference? The redesign of CODForums only cost me $25 bucks plus upgrades. The destroyrepeat design is custom made, so it's not exactly... cheap.

Secondly, ignore the immature comments from me towards Taylor. We've had our beef before, and he decided it was a great idea to carry it over there. I apologize, just ignore it. I'm actually a nice guy. I am actually nice if you get to know me. I don't take shit from anyone, especially not Taylor. I'm already on the line with the mods. Don't worry about it. Ignore it, people.

Also, I'm a FireFox user. *raises glass of wine* Cheers!

I've never had beef with anyone on here. I give honest reviews, feedback, and opinions. Sometimes that hurts feelings and said person returns with name calling, sometimes the user appreciates the honesty and improves. Doesn't bother me one way or the other. Hopefully mods allow me to respond when I am spoken to.

As for the Event I think Bluezone hit the nail on the head with just about everything. Maybe more than a vote should determine the winner. However, this would require a lot of work and its sad we have to put a lot of thought into this when it should just be a friendly/fun event.

I would like to remind everyone to be civil and not make personal attacks against any user. That is infact part of our site-wide guidelines. If you feel like you cannot respond to something civilly, or cannot do that without first taking a jab at someone for something stupid, then don't make the post. 🙂

After the tiebreaker is finished being voted for by the random staff asked and some voter verification finishes (digging through votes that were done before the 10 post minimum was put into place as a vote permission is a little tedious), we will then start the next round. Expect it to begin probably no later than Sunday afternoon or evening.

Clearly you don't realise how much work can go into a free forum. Just because I haven't spent as much money on my board as you have on yours doesn't make the time and effort put into it worthless in comparison. I could've spent money on designs for my board, but I didn't need to because I learned to do it myself instead. Also, just because someone can open a free forum and make some areas on it within half an hour doesn't negate any years of work they put into it to try and make it successful. You spend money, I spend time and effort. Both deserve recognition and you shouldn't feel more entitled to it just because you spent money where I didn't need to do so.

I won't comment on all of the negativity that's been surrounding several of the battles, instead wanting to thank all of the forum/site owners for wishing to be a part of the competition, win or lose, as it is meant to raise awareness for our forums/sites while having what is supposed to be fun.

I'd also like to thank @Grimalkin for taking the time to put on such a competition for us as I know it certainly had to have taken quite a while to get everything set up beforehand, as well as everything that continues to happen throughout the tournament.

Another thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit each and every one of the forums/sites here in this first round before submitting your votes. We as owners can only hope you have enjoyed doing so and look forward to any potential signups on our forums as a result of such a tournament.

Good luck to all advancing to the Sweet Sixteen!

It's funny how so many forums say that but don't enforce it.

Money doesn't buy class

I think that relates to forums and sites quite well as well, to be honest. Just because someone has spent a lot more money does not make their site automatically better.

I was making an objective opinion, not being a jerk about it, but that was what others were doing. But then again, look at the environment. It's not a Sunday School.

When will the best round begin. And just to be clear I didn’t start the fight he was a sore loser I was being nice till he started taking jabs. all I’m saying
