Don't think people necessarily like them this much, just that it's a top genre of forum that gets advertised here. There are more of them, not many anime forums or personal finance forums, etc.

Sounds extra more work on the team and may get confessing and means allot more polls and threads

Whilst I do think it would involve a bit more work, a forum is almost always likely to win the competition really which makes it pointless for sites and blogs.

I think the problem is activity. To make it worth the effort there would need to be a fair amount of webs and blogs joining.

That said, I actually would love to see it happening. It'd be nice to have a winner for each kind.
