Have you ever Joined a forum, and found that they all the regular members just talk to each other, And talk about things in the past, Its as if the community has gone too "close" and is kind of pushing new members out?

Some time ago i joined a Forum that was promoted here - they had 7 or 8 highly active members. If you'd reply to a message, you'd often find the next poster quotes a message above you and replies to that - completely blanking out your comment. ~neutral~

They all talk with each other via IRC/MSN/AIM/Facebook/ect. Heck, there are some people who ARE DATING each other because they met on the forum.
Unfortunately, this community... I don't see a lot of acceptance towards new people who are often thought as... spammers and trolls. =/
Any ideas?
