Does anyone here have abs? Just curious, because I'm not sure of users physical state here 😛

I've been working hard on developing them, and it's worked 😀 I used to do 5 minutes situps, 5 minute rest over and over again for a couple hours. It really helped 😀

When I was younger I had a four pack the six is hard to develop have to do more than situps to get the entire package. I'm flat now just not cut anymore.

There's a small layer of fat I've got to get rid of first before I would see them without tensing.

Just proper training gets you there, you don't need to do special training to develop abs

No, I can't work out at the moment because my back hurts too from weight lifting. 🙁

That is not correct, if you want abs like you see in the magazines situps will not do it alone. Body builders have stated that for years, would love to see yours if you have them and got them from simply doing situps and crunchers.

In fact, if you do not do cardio and other workouts you will not get a six pack, surely you know that doing situps and crunchers will not even trim your waistline. So to develop abs it's a combination of muscle training and fat control.

See, you are doing too much and trying to hard. Let your body develop naturally and it will come as Long as you stay fit. Go running every day for a start, get your body used to working. Your own body weight is the best tool, forget the weights

Taz, I didn't say that. What I did say is that I never use anything but my own weight and I play soccer on an Elite level. Body builders you can't compare with as thier muscles are built with drugs

Not all body frames have the ability to allow the abs to protrude you also made a general statement that is not correct again, not all body builders use drugs, My brothers in arms (army) we all work out and we do not use drugs, if we did we would be kicked out... Many of my buds have the six pack and more and did it all natural. For me I was only able to develop the 4 pack not all people are able via muscle structure to have the full six.

However, your point is well taken that many do abuse the body via drugs to bulk up.

What International Team are you playing for are do you mean a soccer club that has a tiered level of play. Love the Sport/Game.

It is very hard to get abs, without using weights, just running does not get you abs. Its the same with any other muscle group, you have to specifically target the muscle, and train it, i.e with weights, as that it how you maximise the muscle potential.

The best thing to do is start using weights with crunches and sit ups.

Diet, balanced workout across the spectrum is what is required. Good luck and have fun everyone here has offered various advice, most of it pretty sound.

As you say Taz, we are all different. I play soccer, go to an elite soccer college and spend an awful lot of time training. I have 6 planned soccer trainings a week, go running at least twice a week and work out once a week only using my own body weight and a wooden stick. It may not sound like much, but it builds muscles.

You are right there, I played soccer myself and it does work you hard, takes the fat off and then you can build up or tone pending preference. Are you in the UK, I know football there is huge more so than the US.

Womens soccer in the US is huge, I am actually in Sweden right now but have plans to go to the US in a couple of years time. One thing to remember is that abs isn't something you get and have, you have to keep working on them to keep them

My abs are just protected by a small layer of fat 😛
Kidding, I don't have the definition, but I have the muscle. Something I'm working on 😉

Abs are also genetic, some people can only get a 4 pack some people can get a 6 pack some people have 8 packs, it depends how your born, you cannot make an extra set no matter how much training you do, just do sit ups, pull ups, run , lose weight and you will see it
